Deltek Project Accountant / Biller / Payables

Stillwater Sciences (www.stillwatersci.com), an environmental consulting company with about 65 employees in six main offices is seeking a Project Accountant/Biller/Payables in the Corporate office based in Berkeley. This position requires a highly motivated, take-charge individual that will be responsible for assisting PM’s with setting up new projects, maintaining ongoing projects, processing monthly billings, performing full cycle accounts payable, and processing cash receipts.  About 95% of our project billings are Time & Materials, with a NTE amount.

  • Have experience using mid-level project based software; prior experience with Deltek’s Vison software a plus 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare project invoices per client’s detailed billing terms requirements
  • Work with project managers on monthly T&M project billings
  • Run various project reports for project managers
  • Set-up new projects including tasks and budgets per contract and project manager instructions
  • Maintain well organized and complete project files
  • Account Payable coding, investigate and resolve discrepancies, data entry and posting
  • Expense reports: verify receipts and charges, posting and process for payment
  • Weekly ACH & check payment processing
  • Cash receipts processing
  • Maintain all accounts payable documents, checks, 1099 and related files
  • Obtain vendor 1099 information and print annual 1099 forms
  • Various other accounting or office duties as assigned

Required qualifications include:

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proven interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience and/or familiarity with using accounting/financial software systems such as Deltek’s Vision or Microsoft’s Dynamics SL or Dynamics GP, or other similar software
  • Experience working in a professional services organization helpful

Full-time position with benefits.

Salary range is $29-$32/hour;  commensurate with qualifications and experience.
