Jay is interested in sediment production, channel sediment storage and transport, channel morphology and condition, and sediment yield. His areas of expertise include Quaternary geology and geomorphology, process hillslope and fluvial geomorphology, sediment source inventory and slope stability, and watershed sediment budgeting. Jay’s experience stems from interdisciplinary problem solving at watershed to reach scales for sediment source identification and reduction; assessment of hydroelectric project impacts on sediment dynamics, fluvial processes, and channel morphology; and river corridor management. Jay is a California state Professional Geologist (PG).
