Eric has broad training and experience in environmental science, paleoecology, surveying techniques, and applications of GIS methodologies. He applies internet-based GIS solutions to problems in environmental planning and community participation. Eric has taught courses, led field trips, and conducted research in California, Montana, Jalisco (Mexico) and Moorea (French Polynesia) and has directed academic computer laboratories at the University of Montana and UC-Berkeley. His recent GIS work focuses on better integrating field methods with computer mapping and modeling capabilities. In California, he competes in canoe races as a member of Hui O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Club.
